Nice to have score represents, IMHO, how good the component is compared to the best products of the market today.

Used price is the average of what I would pay a pre-owned product (for old/vintage pieces, the price refers to the product in original state and taking into account the additional cost of full service/refurbishment).

  1. I canNOT access any hifi info.

I continue, over and over, to be looped back to the comments screen.

Is it just me or can you give me a fix?

  2. Sorry but our list is full of nonsens.
I think a lot of effort has been put into putting the list together but you didnt hear most of these speakres or amps/preamps and therefore should not maintain their qualities in percentages.
99% of reviews in famous hi fi magazines are paid advertsso all of that is completly wrong and no sense at all.
Also your principle is newer and more expensive is better which is not always true.

    1. I agree with your saying and I repeat that these are my personal preferences based on what I have read and listened in more than 30 years of passion for Hi-Fi. However, I believe that the scale of values I have expressed is widely acceptable otherwise I would not have shared this ranking.
I don’t think “newer and more expensive is better” but many times it is preferable, however in many of my rankings there are products with a score of 100% that are 10 or 20 years old. Thanks for your feedback.

  3. Hello,
I am just wondering how are you evaluating the percentage score? Have you heard every single one of those listed components? If a component scores 100%, what does that mean? Is it musicality, close to a live sound, what is your criteria for a component to score a solid 100%?
I apologize if it sounds like I have asked too many questions.
And I have noticed you have not included any subwoofers.

Great list you have compiled which took many hours of work.

    Best Regards

    K. Khan

    1. Hi, 100% score represents for me the best products on the market today. The question everyone should ask is what does the best mean. In addition to the sound quality, I look for the beauty of the object and the build characteristics, finally, the pleasure that using product can give. Thanks for your feedback.

      P.S. I don’t like subwoofers

  4. Hi there
You should add DCS Debussy. It was class A+ in Stereophile recommended components a few years ago.

  5. While viewing recommended hifi components list on my Samsung s21 ultra, turning phone on it’s side shows more, however it does not show the whole list. There is no slide adjustment at the bottom of screen to slide across to the rest of the list, second hand pricing etc???

    1. If you suggest to insert in the list I am sorry but this is not a Stereophile recommended component nor awarded by the magazines I follow.
